What a wonderful place Tamariu is. The itinerary was simple ~ lots of eating, drinking and talking. We took over the whole of the delightful Hotel Tamariu, situated right on the beachfront.

Imagine, 27 people still gassing away at 9:30 in the evening, having consumed a reasonable volume of various alcohols, when somebody says "I'm hungry". We talk to the hotel management who produce a gorgeous array of tapas. And they did it again the following night. The cost for two nights drinking and two nights tapas was £47 per person. A real bargain!

The weather was so good that they were bathing topless in Calella where we walked to on the Sunday morning. On the right you can see a photograph of us enjoying a refreshing gin and tonic at the best beach bar in town. We finished off the week at the Torres winery in Penades, with a special celebratory lunch in Mas Rabell, their private dining room".
